ÖNORM EN ISO 128-44 legt die allgemeinen Grundsätze für die Darstellung von Schnitten in Zeichnungen der mechanischen Technik in Orthogonalprojektion nach ISO 5456-2 fest. Die Darstellung der Schnittflächen erfolgte nach ISO 128-50. Die Anforderungen an die Reproduktion, einschliesslich Mikroverfilmung nach ISO 6428, wurden auch in diesem Teil von ISO 128 berücksichtigt. Die Grundregeln für die Schnitte und Schnittansichten sind in ISO 128-40 festgelegt.
