About i2i
What is i2i?

i2i is an online standards information platform within the Intertek Inform subscription suite. It helps organisations find, access, organise, monitor, and work with standards and related technical information from multiple publishers in one place.

The exact content and tools available to a user depend on their organisation's subscription, assigned role, and permissions.

What are the key i2i workflows at a glance?
  • Use a standard: Search → confirm the status and version → view it online or request access → add it to a collection → watch it for changes.
  • Maintain an internal document: Create or revise a draft → complete any configured supervision → request publication → publish or return it for changes → monitor and revise the published document.
Who uses i2i?

i2i is designed for people who need standards as part of their day-to-day work, including engineering, quality, compliance, risk, procurement, and document-control teams.

Subscription administrators manage access and may also manage users, collections, requests, and reporting. Organisations that maintain their own documents can assign additional drafting, supervision, and publishing roles.

What is Click2View?

Click2View is the subscription service that provides online access to included standards and their updates.

A Click2View indicator means the document is available under the organisation's subscription, subject to its licence and access rules.

Why do different users see different content or actions?

i2i applies the organisation's subscription entitlements, collection access, and role permissions.

A user may therefore be able to find a document record but not open its full text, modify a shared collection, approve an access request, or publish an internal document.

Finding a standard
How do I find a standard when I know its number?
  1. Open Standards Search.
  2. Enter the document number or keywords.
  3. Run the search and select the required result.
  4. Check the document status and version before opening it.
How do I search when I do not know the document number?

Search by title or keywords, then narrow the results using the available filters.

Depending on the content, filters can include publisher, category, document type, status, language, year, and collection.

Can I search only within my organisation's collections?

Yes. Use Collections Search and select the relevant company collection.

Searches performed in this area return documents contained in the selected collections.

Can I save a useful search?

Yes, when Saved Searches is available.

Run the search first, confirm that it returns a manageable set of results, and then choose Save as. Saved searches can be opened, replaced, or deleted later.

How do I check whether a standard is current?

Open the document record and review its status, version, and relationships.

i2i can identify records that are current, cancelled, superseded, reinstated, amended, or under revision. Also review Versions, Cross References, and Equivalences where they are available.

Accessing and reading standards
How do I open a standard included in my subscription?

Open the document record and select View Online or the available Click2View option.

The action shown can vary by publisher, document format, subscription, and device policy.

What do I do if I do not have access?

Select Request Access on the document record and submit the request.

Your subscription administrator must approve it before the document becomes available. Some documents may instead offer Request For Quote, Order Now, or a physical-order option.

Can I download or print a standard?

Only when the publisher licence and your organisation's subscription permit it.

Some standards are online-viewing only, while others allow controlled downloads or offline access. Follow the controls shown for the document and your organisation's copyright and fair-use requirements.

Where can I see older versions or related standards?

Use Versions for available historic versions.

Use Cross References and Equivalences to review relationships such as:

  • Supersedes
  • Superseded by
  • Amends
  • Amended by
  • Equivalent to
  • Referenced by
  • Related to
Can I find a section inside a standard using a question?

If the subscription includes Search Pro and the document is supported, open the standard in the Online Viewer and select the Search Pro icon.

Enter a natural-language question to receive links to relevant sections. Query limits can be shared across the subscription.

Organising and monitoring standards
What is a collection?

A collection is a set of documents used to organise standards around a team, project, discipline, site, or other business need.

My Collection is personal to the user. Company or managed collections are shared and may be controlled by an administrator.

How do I add a standard to a collection?

Open the document record, select Add to collection, choose an available collection, and confirm.

The same action may also be available for selected search results. Your permissions determine which collections you can change.

What happens if I remove a document from a collection?

The document is removed from that collection.

In workflows where notes, tags, links, or watches are attached through the collection, removing the document can also remove those attached items. Review the confirmation carefully before continuing.

How do I receive notifications when a standard changes?

Add the document to an appropriate collection if required, then choose Watch this document for changes.

Relevant changes are shown under Watched document updates and may also be emailed to you. A collection-level watch may apply automatically and can require a collection administrator to remove it.

What changes can i2i notify me about?

Notifications can cover:

  • Watched-document updates
  • Cancelled standards
  • Superseded standards
  • New versions
  • Changes to Click2View or managed collections
  • Scheduled document reviews

Available notification types and delivery settings depend on the subscription configuration.

Can i2i update a managed subscription when a standard is superseded?

Some Click2View subscriptions use automatic management.

When an included standard is cancelled or superseded, i2i can attempt to add, move, or remove the appropriate Click2View document. The resulting activity appears in the notifications area.

Comparing and understanding content
How do I compare two versions of a standard?

Open Compare Versions, select the prior version and the newer version, confirm the language where requested, and choose Compare.

Only versions and formats supported for that document will be offered.

What is AI Compare?

AI Compare analyses selected sections from a prior and newer version and summarises the differences.

It can offer different result formats and comparison history. It is available only for supported content when enabled as a subscription add-on.

What is the AI Assistant?

The AI Assistant answers natural-language questions using the content of a specific supported standard version.

Users can start separate chats for different versions and may be able to search, rename, or delete chat history. Availability depends on the subscription and whether that version has been processed successfully.

Accounts, permissions, and help
Who approves access requests?

The organisation's subscription administrator normally reviews and approves access requests.

Some requests may require a quote, purchasing action, or support-team involvement before access is granted.

What should I do if an action is missing?

First confirm that you selected the intended subscription, collection, document version, and product module.

If the action is still unavailable, ask your subscription or document administrator to check your role and entitlements.

What should I do if a search, document, or workflow action fails?

Retry after confirming the document and collection selection.

Record the document number, version, collection, action, time, and any message shown. Then use the platform's support form or contact your organisation's support team.

Do not send passwords, tokens, or confidential document content in a support request.

Where can I learn about features enabled for my subscription?

Use the in-platform Tour Guide and help links.

The product menu shows the i2i and Intertek Inform modules available to your account. Modules outside the subscription can appear with a lock icon.
