Behandelt sind Herstellung und Konstruktion von Spritz- und Sprühgeräten zum Auftragen von flüssigen, pastösen und pulvrigen Beschichtungsstoffen auf Werkstücke, und zwar sowohl für handgeführte als auch für automatische ortsfeste Spritz- und Sprühgeräte. Dadurch sollen Gefährdungen durch die Benützung minimiert werden. Die Abgabe des Beschichtungsstoffes kann airless (luftlos), mit Luft, luftunterstützt oder mechanisch mit Zentrifugalkraft erfolgen. Sprühgeräte können zusätzlich elektrostatisch unterstützt sein. Spritz- und Sprühgeräte können in Verbindung mit Versorgungsanlagen, mit Spritzständen, -wänden oder -kabinen oder Automatisierungseinrichtungen stehen. Dadurch können sich überlagernde Gefahren entstehen. Diesen ist bei der Spezifikation und der Installation der Spritz- und Sprühgeräte besondere Beachtung zu schenken.
