Die vorliegende Norm legt die Zusammensetzung, die Anforderungen an die Eigenschaften und die Grenzabmasse für in geraden Längen gelieferte Stangen aus Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen zum Schmieden fest. Diese Norm ist auch anwendbar auf regelmässig Vielkantstangen, Hohlstangen, Stangen mit quadratischer Querschnittsform und Profile, die zum Schmieden vorgesehen sind. Der Ablauf der Probenentnahme, die Prüfverfahren zur Feststellung der Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen der Norm und die Lieferbedingungen sind ebenfalls festgelegt.
