Standard applies to electrical and electronic measuring and testing equipment and to the terminals, connectors, wiring and probes used in the interface between. Also applies to accessories and adaptors rated for use with measuring or testing probe assemblies, connectors or terminals. This standard applies to measuring or testing probe assemblies, connectors and terminals that are rated for measuring or testing branch circuits up to 1000 volts or ac or dc voltages up to 40 kilovolts incorporated within electrical end-product equipment circuits. Does not apply to equipment that is rated for use exclusively in extra-low voltage and power limited applications or equipment intended primarily for equipment-to-equipment interconnection (for example: IEEE interface bus, etc.)
