Die IEC 505 erklärt in Umrissen die Notwendigkeit, Isoliersysteme mit Hilfe von Betriebserfahrungen und Funktionsprüfungen zu bewerten, jedoch beschreibt sie nicht die Verfahren hierzu. Dieser Bericht gibt den für Ausrüstungen zuständigen Technischen Komitees Richtlinien für die einzuführenden Verfahren zur Bewertung der Lebensdauer von Isoliersystemen auf der Grundlage von Betriebserfahrungen und anhand von Funktionsprüfungs-Ergebnissen.
