Provides general information relevant to the determination both of the viscosity of bituminous binders as a physical quantity, and of the viscosity/temperature relation over the temperature range in which these binders exhibit Newtonian flow. In practice, it is necessary to know the viscosity curve of bituminous binders as a function of temperature in order to be able to select the most appropriate temperatures for conveying and processing respectively and to give indications as to their behaviour when being worked (see Explanatory notes).
