Gives requirements and test methods that apply to materials and seams of protective clothing against foul weather. for the interest of manufacturer's, test institutes and end-users. The measured properties and their classification are meant to ensure an adequate protection level. The essential properties are water proofness and water vapour resistance and are to be tested and marked on the label. The most important property is water proofness and is measured on material of the outer garment layer. The test is made on pretreated and new fabric samples and also on parts with seams.
