A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Specifies minimum requirements for the use of vertebrate animals in biological testing. It is also intended to: a) establish guidelines that allow the scientist to respect life in general; b) reduce the number of animal experiments and the number of animals used in experiments (for example, by optimizing the experiments; c) minimize suffering and maintain the quality of life of the animals used in the experiments.
