Provides guidance on the proper application and installation of polyethylene pipe for the conveyance of liquids under pressure. The choice of materials or particular applications is covered. Does not recommend the use of polyethylene pipe for any particular purpose. The use of plastics pipes in services supplied from the mains of water undertakings is governed by the byelaws of the undertakings and these shall be strictly observed. Not recommended for use in ground that is, or might be, liable to severe gas contamination. Covers working pressure and effects of temperature, limitations, flow properties, jointing procedures, bending, storage, handling and transport and inspection.
