This British Standard specifies requirements for automatic roller-type couplings for semi-trailers with a laden weight not exceeding 7¼ tons having a maximum imposed operating weight on the rollers of 2¾ tons. However, the rollers should be plated for a maximum design imposed weight of 3 tons to provide a loading tolerance.
