1.1This guide provides examples of criteria needed to define a digital contact thermometer (DCT) suitable for measuring temperature in the test methods utilized by Committee D02. The DCT criteria are based on the design and sensing characteristics of the liquid-in-glass thermometers that have been used successfully in Committee D02 test methods. The DCT criteria listed in a test method take precedence over those listed in this guide.

1.2The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
