This Standard specifies requirements for two-component, epoxy primers for the protection of iron and steel and galvanized iron and steel against atmospheric corrosion in an industrial or marine environment. It is suitable for application by conventional air or airless spraying and may also be applied by roller or brush. Paint specified in this Standard is described in AS/NZS 2312 as Paint Reference 6.This paint is intended for use as a primer in paint systems for the protection of iron and steel and galvanized iron and steel against corrosion involving wet and damp areas, high humidity, marine applications or industrial fallout.NOTES:1 This paint may be used as detailed for systems MP5 - I-L, MP6 -A-D, MP9 -C, MP10 -C, LP1- I and GZLP - F-I in AS/NZS 2312.2 Appendix A contains recommendations and advice on information which should be provided by the purchaser at the time of enquiry or order.3 Additional information on the use and application of epoxy primer is contained in Appendix B.4 Alternative methods for determining compliance with this Standard are contained in Appendix C.
