This Standard applies to single operator, portable machines for electric arc welding and allied processes which are designed for operation at low voltage, are intended for connection to the supply by flexible cord and plug, and which, when tested to Clause 18.11, have a rated input not exceeding 3.6 kV.A.For the purpose of this Standard a portable machine for electric arc welding and allied processes is called a machine.
