Specifies requirements for the installation of electrical equipment and the testing of the completed installation in single domestic premises. The requirements and methods are consistent with AS 3000 and reflect common practices. Installations carried out in accordance with these requirements are considered as complying with AS 3000. A number of illustrations have been included to clarify the requirements.

This Standard sets out acceptable methods for electricalinstallations in single domestic premises, based on the requirements ofAS 3000 or the New Zealand Electricity Regulations (ER 1993).NOTE: AS 3000 is referred to throughout this Standard. Where these referencesoccur they are to be taken to refer also to ER 1993 for New Zealand.
