These requirements apply to automatic shut off valves and vent valves up to 150mm size for use on natural gas (NG), simulated natural gas (SNG), town gas (TG), tempered liquefied petroleum gas (TLP) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).Compliance of a valve with these requirements does not imply that it is acceptable for use without supplemental tests in its intended application.Requirements for an automatic shut off valve or vent valve incorporated in a combination control are published in AS4624. Valves incorporated in thermoelectric flame safeguards and over-pressure and under-pressure cut off devices are published in AS4620 and AS4632 respectively.Automatic valves that do not shut off completely are not covered by specific requirements except where they are incorporated as part of an appliance or system.Automatic valves incorporating electrical components shall comply with the requirements of the appropriate electrical authority.
