This Standard sets out simplified definitions for commonly used lighting terms and quantities. It also explains the relationships which exist between the lighting quantities defined in this Standard.The definitions in this Standard are supplementary to the primary definitions provided in AS 1852(845). They are intended for use in applications which require that a basic understanding of the concepts involved be conveyed in a simpler form than the primary definitions of AS 1852(845).Whilst this Standard sets out definitions for some terms which involve colour, attention is drawn to AS 2633 gives a more comprehensive coverage of definitions and explanatory material relating to the specification and measurement of colour.
