Specifies requirements for valves of inside screw, solid wedge, metal or resilient seated, non-rising stem design in a nominal size range of DN 80 to DN 600. Relates to valves primarily intended for use with potable water, and usually operated by a removable key or handwheel, in buried or above-ground installations, and specifies materials, design, manufacture, operation, testing and marking. Differs from the 1988 edition in that the Standard includes additional performance requirements for the various strength tests including torque tests, and has added flat and raised face flanges and optional internal and external coatings with reduced body thicknesses.
