Specifies poles suitable for electricity transmission and telecommunications purposes with or without full-length preservative treatment and, where required, gives preservative types and retentions required. The Standard also sets out requirements for pole identification as well as means for demonstrating compliance. Appendices include a test for differentiating sapwood and heartwood in softwoods; and example systems for process quality monitoring and purchaser treatment quality checks.
