La norma si applica agli odorizzanti liquidi per i gas distribuiti per uso domestico, sia a mezzo di tubazioni, sia allo stato liquido in bidoni. Gli attuali odorizzanti si classificano in: odorizzanti a base di mercaptani, solfuri ciclici, solfuri alchilici o miscele di tali composti solforati.
