92 VERSION CONTAINED IN ASME PV CODE 2C AS SFA-5.10 Lays down the criteria for the classification of bare, wrought and cast aluminum alloy electrodes and rods for use with the gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, oxyfuel gas, and plasma arc welding processes. Classification is based upon chemical composition of the wire and a usability test. Spooled electrodes are tested by fabricating a groove weld specimen to meet a radiographic soundness requirement. Coiled or straight length rod is tested by visually inspecting a gas tungsten arc welded bead on plate specimen. Standard sizes, finish, winding requirements, package forms and weights, product identification, and chemical composition limits are specified.
