This British Standard specifies the nominal sizes, dimensions, quality, finish and testing of engineers’ cold chisels and allied tools for hand use as follows:

  • flat chisels;
  • cross-cut chisels;
  • half-round nose chisels;
  • diamond-point chisels;
  • brick bolsters;
  • floorboard chisels;
  • plugging chisels;
  • concrete or moil points;
  • parallel pin punches;
  • taper punches (including nail and reaper punches);
  • centre punches.
