Le présent document: - énumère les performances des panneaux et des panonceaux de signalisation permanente, - spécifie les caractéristiques techniques correspondantes à prendre en considération, - énumère les modalités des méthodes de mesure et des méthodes d'essai à utiliser. Les dimensions principales des panneaux et des panonceaux ainsi que les tolérances dimensionnelles font l'objet des normes XP P 98-531 et NF P 98-532-3. Le présent document s'applique aux panneaux, aux panonceaux et aux supports tels qu'ils sont fournis pour être disposés le long des voies ouvertes à la circulation publique. Il s'agit des panneaux de catégories SP et SD dont les revêtements constituant les décors sont rétroréfléchissants ou non rétroréfléchissants.
