The present VDI guideline provides guidance for: Engineers and project engineers1) working in practice who want to reflect their own abilities in a generally recognized job description Personnel developers who want to define requirement profiles for existing employees and those who are to be hired and who want to establish practice-oriented personnel development concepts Managers who want to have their own employees for Want to develop project management tasks or need to assess external project management competence The starting point for the creation of these guidelines is the finding that there is currently neither a clearly defined job profile nor clearly formulated requirements for project engineers.
