This International Standard defines the most important terms used in the heat treatment of ferrous products. It contains an alphabetical list of the terms with their definitions and, where appropriate, comments. NOTE 1 The term ferrous products include steel and cast iron.NOTE 2The list in clause 3 will be translated in different languages and because the alphabetic order is different from language to language it is recommended to keep the term number during translation. The term number could then be used as an identifier to each other language which is especially of interest for an electronic translation of these terms.
