DETERMINATION OF WATER AND SEDIMENT CONTENT OF FUEL OIL - CENTRIFUGE METHOD
14-05-2017
12-01-2013
This method describes the determination of water and sediment in fuel oils by means of the centrifuge. For the determination of water and sediment in crude oils refer to ASTM Method D4007-IP Method 359 Determination of Water and Sediment in Crude Oil by the Centrifuge Method. This method is unsuitable if the water-oil interface in the centrifuge tube is not clear cut at the end of the test or the prescribed repeatability or reproducibility cannot be obtained. Alternative methods must then be employed. (Water by distillation ASTM D95-IP 74 and Sediment by Extraction ASTM D473-53).
