Describes the extension of ISO/IEC 11172-3 to lower sampling frequencies, the coded representation of multilingual high quality audio for broadcasting, transmission and storage media, and the method for decoding of multichannel and multilingual high quality audio signals. The input of the encoder and the output of the decoder are compatible with existing PCM standards.
