Applies to the basic measurement methods of the audio characteristics of the digital audio and audiovisual equipment (for both consumer and professional use). Covers the usual conditions and procedures for use in measuring performance characteristics of equipment with an audio bandwidth approximately one half of the sampling frequency of a system, when the audio information is processed in digital data form. Does not apply to systems including bit-rate reduced digital audio signals.
