This Standard sets out requirements for solvent-borne undercoat paints for ships and equipment, available in white or grey colour, that are intended to be applied, as supplied, by brush, roller, or by spray when thinned.This Standard applies to paints intended for the undercoating of primed metal surfaces that are to be topcoated with a semi-gloss or full gloss film that will provide resistance to weathering, washing and intermittent contact with petrol or mineral oils. Typical applications include machinery and the superstructures of ships.
