This document is an updated report on the design & construction of reinforced concrete cooling tower shells. In general, this report is addressed to towers 300 ft (90 m) or greater in height having a geometric form similar to or that of a hyperboloid of revolution. The specific intent is to provide the design profession with guidelines reflecting the present state of the art, as interpreted by the committee.
