Call Waiting Delux (CWD) is a Stored Program Control Switching System (SPCS) service that allows a customer, upon hearing a call waiting tone, to choose how the incoming call is treated. The types of treatments that a customer may select for the waited call include: 1) answering the call, while putting the existing call on hold, 2) answering the call & disconnecting the existing call, 3) forwarding the call (e.g. to voicemail), 4) connecting the call to an announcement, 5) putting the call on hold, & 6) conferencing the existing call and the incoming call. The customer is also provided with the capabilities to alternate between a held call and an existing call, to conference while a party is held or to disconnect from one party while remaining connected to the other.
