Provides Bellcore's preliminary view of the generic functional criteria for Wideband & Broadband Digital Cross-Connect Systems (W-DCs & B-DCs) that automatically cross-connect Digital Signal level 1 (DS1) & above, & Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) signals. Consolidates & updates TR-TSY-000233, Issue 2 & TA0TSY-000241, Issue 4 to provide a format that allow easy addition of new functions & features to support next generation DCS applications such as ring interconnection & bandwidth management, & to reflect the progress of SONET standard developments.
