Die vorliegende ÖNORM enthält allgemeine Begriffe zu den Bereichen Feuerwehrorganisation, Meldung - Alarmierung, Feuerwehreinsatz, Verbrennungsvorgang sowie Brand und Brandschutz, die zur praxisnahen Verwendung im Feuerwehr- und Brandschutzwesen bestimmt sind. Die Begriffe wurden deshalb auch in möglichst einfacher Weise festgelegt. Innerhalb der jeweiligen Abschnitte wurden die Benennungen und Definitionen alphabetisch gereiht. Ein da-zugehöriges Stichwortverzeichnis ist in einem Anhang enthalten. Die Begriffe wurden modifiziert und der DIN V 14011 sowie ISO 8421-8 angepasst.
