Le présent document est applicable aux boîtes aux lettres à encombrement réduit et à ouverture totale (OT) pour l'équipement extérieur des habitations (individuelles ou collectives) pour la remise des articles postaux à domicile. Ces boîtes aux lettres peuvent être utilisées lorsque l'arrêté 1802 du 29-06-1979 (référence publiée au JO du 12-07-1979) n'est pas applicable et lorsque le manque de place ne permet pas d'installer une boîte aux lettres conforme à la norme NF D 27-405:2010.
