BROADBAND MULTISERVICES USER NETWORK INTERFACE GENERIC REQUIREMENTS

Presents Bellcore's preliminary view of proposed generic criteria for a broadband multiservices user network interface. This interface enables BISDN users to access multiple service types through a common interface. The following service types are currently allowed: cell relay service, Switched Multimegabit Data Service (SMDS), frame relay, and circuit emulation. Although the interface can support any service type, bandwidth constraints may restrict one service instance of a particular type at one time.
