La présente partie de l'ISO 230 fournit des informations concernant l'estimation possible des incertitudes de mesure pour les mesurages effectués conformément à l'ISO 230. Les méthodes décrites dans la présente partie de l'ISO 230 visent une utilisation pratique; par conséquent, les incertitudes-types sont évaluées essentiellement par l'évaluation de type B (voir l'Article 4 et le GUM). D'autres méthodes conformes au GUM peuvent être utilisées.
