Proposes revision of the minimum performance requirements from an aspect of safety provision by surge suppression devices when used for telecommunications applications. The major differences from the 1993 edition include modifications of the structure for clarity, modifications of definitions, and the inclusion of additional testing criteria. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
