Test methods and mechanical safety requirements of outdoor seating for domestic, camping and contract use for adults, without regard to design, materials and construction or manufacturing processes are specified. This Prestandard does not apply to removable upholstery and covering or to outdoor furniture for severe contract use where higher requirements may be necessary, permanently fixed furniture and street furniture. Test methods are listed in Annex A for assessing the behaviour of outdoor seating at high and low temperatures. The effect of degradation and ageing caused by moisture and light has not been included.
