Der Kennzeichnungsring wird für die in der Bundeswehr eingeführten Betriebsstoff-Einheitskanister nach TL 7240-0022 verwendet. Zur Kennzeichnung der Kanister mit der eingefüllten Kraftstoffsorte wird der einseitig offene Kunststoff-Klemmring am Handgriff des Betriebsstoffkanisters befestigt.
