Provides guidance on procedures for inactivating, handling and testing of waste containing organisms arising from biotechnology laboratory processes and activities. Covers procedures to reduce the risks arising from exposure to waste derived from laboratory-scale activities which contains organisms hazardous or potentially hazardous to animals, humans, plants or the environment. May include organisms in the form of liquid, solid or gaseous by-products or effluent, with items or equipment required to dispose of and may be contaminated with organisms.
