This Section describes two methods for the determination of total neutral oil. The method described in clause 1 is technically identical with the older method described in BS 684:1958 and is generally applicable to natural fats. The procedure described in clause 2 is an alternative method that is known to have been applied satisfactorily to cottonseed, soya bean, peanut, linseed and coconut oils.
