A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Chemical composition, mechanical properties, testing, non-destructive testing either dye-penetrant or acid-etched ring, standards of acceptance, dimensional tolerances and marking. Charts establish acceptable levels of dye-penetrant indications for four classes of tube. An appendix shows the relationship between British and American Standard Specifications.
