This Standard specifies requirements for copper alloy taps, mixing taps mechanical (non-thermostatic), and tap sets in a range of nominal sizes from DN 6 to DN 50 inclusive with continuous working pressures not exceeding 1.4 MPa and continuous operating temperatures not exceeding 80C.It also specifies requirements for outlets which are an integral part of a tap or mixing tap and the requirements for tapset breaching piece assemblies.Requirements for taps with integral backflow prevention devices are specified in AS 2845.1. Integral pop-up wastes, components and accessories supplied as part of a tap do not require separate certification.Outlets which are a removable part of a tap or mixing tap are currently not covered by this Standard but will become part of this Standard from 1st January 2000.
