Specifies general requirements for both metal and non-metal conduits and fittings used to protect cables in electrical installations. Materials, construction requirements, dimensions and tolerances are given. Tests cover material requirements, electrical characteristics and mechanical properties. Requirements for particular types of conduits and fittings are given in Parts 2 to 8.
