Applies to VDU (visual display unit) work stations as specified in DIN 66233 Part 1. Although all the principles of ergonomic dialogue design given here are to be applied without exception, their relative importance for a particular field of application will vary. Deals with the dialogue between the user and the dialogue system, its scope being to establish guidelines which, when applied in the design of such a system, ensure that the system characteristics are adapted to suit the psychological characteristics of human operators.
