About the Steel Door Institute

The Steel Door Institute (SDI) is a voluntary, unincorporated business association. It aims to promote the safe and productive use of steel doors and frames in the construction industry.

Representatives of SDI member companies are responsible for creating and publishing manufacturing, quality and performance Standards. SDI tests steel doors and frames for strength, quality, consistency, security, weather and fire resistance, wear and tear and longevity.
