PFI Standards
About the Pipe Fabrication Institute
The Pipe Fabrication Institute (PFI) is a trade association, founded in the United States in 1913. The PFI’s purpose is to promote the highest standard of excellence in the global pipe fabrication industry.
Piping systems are used in complex facilities such as steel mills, refineries, chemical processing plants and nuclear and fossil fuel power plants. These systems must perform under great stress and meet stringent requirements.
The PFI publishes fabrication and engineering Standards plus technical bulletins to guide the piping industry and clients of that industry in meeting these challenging requirements.
