The National Construction Code (NCC) provides the minimum requirements for the safety and health, sustainability, performance and construction for all new buildings, including new work to existing buildings, in Australia. Simple and efficient access to building codes is critical for all projects.

Accessing the Australian National Construction Code and Referenced Standards

The National Construction Code (NCC) is Australia’s primary set of technical design and construction provisions for buildings. As a performance-based code, it sets the minimum required level for the safety, health, amenity, accessibility, and sustainability of certain buildings. The Australian Building Codes Board, on behalf of the Australian Government and each State and Territory government, produces and maintains the National Construction Code.

Intertek Inform's NCC subscription options provide users access to the 300+ Standards Australia documents referenced within the code. It is important to advise our clients that the subscription options contain the editions of the Standards as referenced in the NCC. In some instances, these are not the same as the current edition of the Standard subsequently published or updated by Standards Australia.

New editions of Standards, which are primary references in the NCC, will only be included when the NCC is updated. The NCC subscription services offer significant value in accessing the Standards compared to buying them individually, a cost in the proximity of $30k.
